Directed by Brian De Palma and based on a powerful true story, Casualties of War (Casualties of War, 1989) is a moving, raw masterpiece about moral courage. Amid the turmoil of the Vietnam War, a young soldier (Michael J. Fox) faces an impossible choice as he struggles against his own unit and an immoral act. The film asks a difficult question: when war brings out the darkest side of humanity, is murder still always murder?
