Step into the heart of Finnish film history and the cheerful rillumarei era! Produced by Suomen Filmiteollisuus (SF), Muhoksen Mimmi is a classic Finnish musical comedy directed by Jorma Nortimo, offering plenty of humor, fast-paced twists and unforgettable evergreen melodies.
The story is set amid the beautiful landscapes of Northern Ostrobothnia, the relaxed atmosphere along the Oulujoki River, and the iconic lumberjack and train culture. At the center of the film is the spirited and charming Muhoksen Mimmi (Eija Inkeri), around whom men vie for her attention while one misunderstanding follows another. The cast features beloved stars of Finnish cinema, including Masa Niemi, Siiri Angerkoski and Armas Jokio.
The film's music is, fittingly, by Toivo Kärki, with lyrics by Reino Helismaa. Muhoksen Mimmi is genuine Finnish nostalgia that brings a smile to your face and puts you in a good mood!
