Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather Part II is a cinematic achievement that won six Academy Awards, including Best Picture. It is a masterful tale of power, family and corruption that expands the Corleone family's story in two different directions.
The film follows the new Godfather, Michael Corleone ( Al Pacino ), in the 1950s as he attempts to expand the family empire to Las Vegas and Cuba, while fraud and pressure from the authorities begin to tear apart the family's unity. Alongside this, we see the story of a young Vito Corleone ( Robert De Niro ) in early 20th century New York - a depiction of how a Sicilian orphan grew up to become America's most feared and respected mafia boss.
