A fast-paced comedy of misunderstandings – when the whole town goes crazy!
Made in 1939 , Jacket and Vest Off! is one of the Finnish Film Industry's (SF) most beloved "bush comedies", where speed and dangerous situations follow one another. The film is based on the popular play by Agapetus (Yrjö Soini), and it offers its viewers the best possible entertainment of the late 1930s: witty words, absurd situations and a generous dose of romance.
The story begins when a rumor begins to spread in a small town that a theater critic has arrived under a pseudonym. At the same time, the inventor and the jeweler accidentally get entangled in each other's affairs, and soon no one knows who is who. When you add hasty decisions and literal "taking off your coat and vest", the result is a hilarious mess that still makes people laugh to this day.
