A warm, moving and insightful dramedy about cultural differences, family, and understanding that transcends language barriers. Spanglish – Lost in Translation follows Flor (Paz Vega), a Mexican single mother who moves to the United States with her daughter in the hope of securing the best possible future.
Flor finds work as a housekeeper for the successful but emotionally troubled Clasky family. The family’s father, top chef John Clasky, is played by Adam Sandler in one of the most mature and acclaimed roles of his career. Although they initially have no common language, the meeting of two completely different worlds and families gives rise to both humor and profound humanity. The film was directed by Oscar winner James L. Brooks (Terms of Endearment, As Good as It Gets).
