Directed by Zaida Bergroth, The Boys of Skavaböle is an award-winning and visually stunning portrayal of brothers Rupert and Eero. The film takes place in two time periods: their childhood in Hyrylä (Skavaböle) in the 1970s, and their youth in the 1980s, when the shadows of the past must finally be faced.
The story begins with a happy childhood, but gradually the family idyll begins to crack due to the father's drinking and the mother's despair. The brothers swear a blood oath to protect each other from everything, but can they keep their promise when the lies and tragedies of the adult world fall upon them?
