Based on Mikko Rimminen's best-selling novel, Pussikalja is an honest, absurd and deeply human depiction of the idle lifestyle of Helsinki. The film follows three friends – Marsalkka, Liipola and Hennin – over one sweaty and eventful day in Kallio, Helsinki.
This is not a story of great achievements, but a story of being, of endless talking, and of how to get through the day with only a few coins in your pocket and a great need for a beer. It is a celebration of friendship and those moments when nothing else matters but the next cold drink on a sunny park bench.
