Olavi Virta, directed by Timo Koivusalo, is a moving biographical film about a man whose voice has been etched in the hearts of Finns forever. The film follows Olavi Virta (Lauri Tilkanen) as he rises from wartime dance-hall hero and movie star to king of the nation, but it doesn't shy away from the downside of success either.
It is a story of love for music, painful choices, loss and perseverance. The film will of course feature Virta's most iconic songs, such as Hopeinen kuu and Punaiset lehtäd , which come to life in a new, wonderful way as part of this great Finnish drama.
