The Master Fugitive, released in 1968, is a fast-paced and witty war comedy starring the legendary Paul Newman as Harry Frigg – a soldier whose only real talent is escaping from prison.
When five Allied generals are captured by the Italians in a luxurious villa, the military leadership realizes that the gentlemen cannot escape on their own. Harry Frigg is quickly promoted to major general and sent to the prisoners with one mission: to get the whole gang out. However, the mission becomes complicated when Harry discovers that he is enjoying the life of a general, not to mention the charming countess (Sylva Koscina).
