Forget the leotards and glossy heroes. Will Smith is Hancock - the world's most unpopular superhero. While Hancock has the power to save lives, his reckless style often causes more material damage than good, and his attitude is anything but heroic. The people of Los Angeles have had enough of their city-smashing savior.
Everything changes when Hancock is rescued by PR consultant Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), who, out of gratitude, decides to change Hancock's public image and teach him what it takes to be a hero. However, the task proves more difficult than expected - especially when Ray's wife Mary (Charlize Theron) seems to have secrets of her own regarding Hancock's past.
