It's Christmas Eve, and McClane is waiting for his wife's flight to arrive. A peaceful holiday is violently interrupted when a group of highly trained mercenaries seize control of the airport's air traffic control to rescue an imprisoned drug lord. Thousands of passengers are trapped in the air, running out of fuel, and the only obstacle in the terrorists' way is McClane, walking barefoot (or this time, in the snow).
