Three years have passed since the events of the previous season, and David Duchovny returns in an unforgettable performance as the decadent facilitator Hank Moody. When Hank returns to Los Angeles from New York, he quickly discovers that nothing—and yet everything—has changed.
This season, Hank finds himself thrust into the hip-hop world when he's assigned to write a film script for a demanding rapper named Samurai Apocalypse ( The RZA ). Meanwhile, his relationship with Karen and the growing Becca is filled with electricity, misunderstandings, and those famous "Hank Moody moments."
